Innovative design gains recognition in design press
Croatian architects Penezic & Rogina are gaining attention in the international media for their orginal designs. Their design for the Kindrgarten Jarun and family house Sipak has been published in many architectural publications including Wallpaper, Phaidon Atlas of 21st Century World Architecture.
Vinko Penezi and Krešimir Rogina have been collaborating since 1979 and . Established PENEZI & ROGINA architects in 1991. Both graduates of Zagreb School of Architecture, the y continued their postgraduate studies at Belgrade School of Architecture with Prof. Ranko Radovi, (from 1983 to 1990). For their first project Mladost Swimming pool in 1987 they were awarded with silver medal at INTERARH World Biennale in Sofia and Grand Prix at Belgrade Salone of Architecture. They won six awards in Shinkenchiku competition in Japan. Through 30 years of work they had become one of most respected internationally acclaimed Croatian architects. They had a number of projects of various architectural typologies. Won Viktor Kovacic and Bernardo Bernardi Awards in 1997 and Vladimir Nazor National Award for Architecture in 2002. They were Croatian representatives at the Venice Biennale 2000 and were invited to participate at the Venice Biennale 2004 by director Kurt W. Forster. Theoretical study about their work was presented last year in Rome in acclaimed edition IT REVOLUTION IN ARCHITECTURE.
