Spanish architecture studio completes cream marble residence in luscious green area

A-cero has shared this dramatically curved house in Madrid characteristic of the studio’s bold style. Each residential home by the established architecture practice takes a similar tack with folded swathes of cream marble and concrete cascading into leafy green foliage and this house in Madrid is no different.

Situated on a 2,800 sq m plot on a low slope, the three storey home welcomes the pines and oaks already flourishing on site, disrupting the natural views only with a modest pool and associated changing rooms. The ventilated white marble of the main house volume is combined with bamboo wood to ‘give it character and sobriety’.

Inside this colour scheme is continued with the pure white of the construction materials reflecting the bright Spanish sunlight into the interior spaces whilst keeping them cool. This is counteracted by warmer tones of grey and brown with Havana Oak floors in each of the four bedrooms.

Three en suite bedrooms are to be found on the first floor with the generous master bedroom and dressing room on the ground floor. Also on the ground level are a large living room, guest toilet and kitchen with storage area. A garage, service area and other associated facilities are located on the basement level.
