Stacked glazed units form new Unimark HQ
Located prominently on Kolkata’s Shakespeare Sarani close to the heart of the city, the distinctive profile of Unimark Asia’s new 16-storey headquarter office is derived from incorporating GFA-free triple height external terraces in a dynamic way by stacking and offsetting five glass boxes.
aCTA international have placed a core asymmetrically and only four further columns are required to create column free spaces within this steel framed building. Essential Vastu principles are complied with.
A sixth box wrapped in granite extends out towards the street and announces the building's presence on Shakespeare Sarani. Here retail elements will be provided and will also function as a triple height entrance in the South East corner.
There are several green initiatives that include full height hi-performance solar glazing with integral blinds. The building is targeted to reach the LEED gold rating when completed. The building is currently on site and work on the main structure is about to commence.
