Triple-theme green space planned for Tianjin
This Riverside Park project by Kalarch INC is located in the north of Tianjin, China, close to the suburban New Hangu Center and intends to serve a population of high-tech workers and their families with and educational and recreational park. It consists of 'WIT Experience' including a 15 hectare Town Center Project (North-West) and the 47 hectare 'TEDA WIT' Riverside Park (South-East).
The park is divided into three layers: The City Plaza, The Urban Park and The Nature. The City Plaza Layer serves as an extension of city functions, with public squares, multiuse plazas and functional buildings such as clubhouses, educational facilities and retail shops. The Urban Park Layer contains most of park activity zones including a sports park, a children's playground, an amphitheatre, a historic park and a botanical garden for native plants. A bike and jogging route is also planned in this zone.
The Nature Layer has two main components, a forest zone and a working vineyard. Located on a higher topography, the Nature Layer serves as a green background for the park. The aesthetics of the park are inspired by the rural landscape found in Northern China with geometric patterns and tall popular groves as dominating elements.
