R. Varacalli Architects design to intergrate with the street and the skyline to revitalise the city
R. Varacalli Architect inc. is a Toronto based firm creating buildings that are integral to the city fabric, that is, buildings that belong to the street, to the neighbourhood, to the skyline, to the city. Buildings are designed to have an array of mixed uses, street retail, second and third floor retail, office space and residential dwelling units within the intervention. Buildings are designed to be sustainable and constructed on underutilized city blocks, to revitalize and intensify the neighbourhood, taking the opportunity of street life, public transit and existing neighbourhood amenities. Their buildings are designed to be constructed of conventional materials, constructed in a re-interpretative composition. Buildings are designed to understand the economic sensibilities and are to be memorable and artful.
The three current projects by R. Varacalli Architect inc. are located in Toronto at three major intersections of the city.
The Bloor Avenue project is to commence construction in March 2012 and to be completed by 2015; the Yonge Sheppard project is currently under construction to be completed by 2016, and the Yonge Eglinton project is work-in-progress with construction completion by 2017.
