Gensler short listed for Corenet’s 2008 Sustainability award
“Intelligent” building design incorporates passive cooling and other environmental controls within the structure, thus reducing heating requirements and minimising operational costs. Sunlight floods the interior, reducing reliance on artificial lighting, while natural cross ventilation cools the building, fostering well being among staff. The design team sourced the materials to reduce environmental impact and embody Herman Miller's ethos of environmental stewardship.
Gensler’s design for Herman Miller's international headquarters is short listed for Corenet’s 2008 Sustainability award and is the first building in the UK to receive both BREEAM (excellent rating) and LEED (gold) accreditation.
