Construction begins on the renovation of historic Liverpool icon

The Historic Bluecoats Arts Centre, for many years a Liverpool landmark, is to be revitalised and expanded as part of a £10 m re-development project which will make it Liverpool’s cultural flagship for the 2008 European Capital of Culture and establish it as a leading centre of creativity for the future. Construction of this unique project, conceived and designed by Rotterdam based BIQ Architecten working with conservation specialists Donald Insall Associates, engineers Techniker and Austin-Smith:Lord as Executive Architect has begun on site and is due for completion Spring 2007 in time for Liverpool’s 800th birthday that year.
