Argh too bad its school for kids!

New School of the Arts in Singapore

Architects Wong Mun Summ and Richard Hassell of WOHA envisioned a backdrop that represents the construct of a creative learning space, and designed to reflect the rich diversity of the arts and academic rigour in the School of the Arts.

They addressed the environmental challenges of setting an arts school in the city, the effective use of natural light and ventilation, and the intimacy of the private spaces for the arts. WOHA's design also balanced the need for security with the need for public access and community engagement; it also reveals sensitivity to how the building would relate to its immediate vicinity and the traffic flow for pedestrians and vehicles.

The S$100 million project is scheduled for completion by end-2009.
