Construction begins on international passenger terminal T1A for Kazan Airport
Work has begun on Studio ATM’s latest project: a new international passenger terminal, 1A at Kazan Airport in response to the upcoming ‘Universiade 2013 Kazan’. The terminal building is located next to the existing Terminal 1. The terminal capacity is 600 passengers in the peak hours in level of service ‘Class C’ by IATA. The annual passenger flow is 1,200,000 passengers per year.
The passengers are serviced by boarding buses and four boarding bridges. On the ground level are located the main processing areas. The second level is partially built and has boarding bridges, gate saloons and administrative units.
The landside entrance hall is two storeys high. In airside area the passengers flow are divided in four separate parts: domestic departures, international departures, domestic arrivals and international arrivals. The main aim of the project is not only to build processing building for the passengers, but landmark building serving as ‘Gate to Kazan’.
