Exclusive three part podcast series

The importance of creating quality open space between buildings in our cities has long been recognised, but a new initiative is afoot to quantify this asset both in terms of social and even harder, commercial values. Proving that open space has a value in financial terms is vital to win the hearts and minds of developers driving regeneration schemes in most cities.

A comprehensive survey carried out by Gensler and the ULI has identified some interesting findings and has even gone some way to creating a project out of thin air…

In the first of a three part series on openspaces, we talk to Ian Mulcahey, of Gensler, architect and chief planner of the Thames Riverside project.

In the second part, we talk to Brian Kilkelly of the ULI and in the third, Antony Wood, Executive Director of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats.
