In Leng Quan, a housing district of 20 ha, close to the IT centre of Beijing, various space sequences according to a coral form create a living experience on its own. The Architecture is based on 4 different structure types that can be composed according to modular architecture principles depending on what the function is. The “house in house” system varies from high-density condominiums to terraced houses with courtyards. The settlement is ideally integrated into the environment with its terraces and its differentiation in height, what permits attractive views all over the landscape. The dwellings are opened to the green with their generous balconies, courtyards, green terraces and loggias. Semi-public green courtyards allow an orientation of the dwellings in 3 directions.
