Architecture in harmony with the character of existing buildings

Amazon Court is a major new mixed-use office development in the Karlin quarter, just northwest of Prague’s historic centre. It is the third building within River City Prague on the riverside of Vltava which is being developed by Europolis Real Estate Asset Management s.r.o. The building presents a simple exterior, featuring a vertical façade rhythm in local stone: a solid structure enclosing a handsome interior. The large apertures in the façade establish close connections between the exterior and interior. The building’s core is a public winter garden: an inviting space that incorporates intimate terraces, water features, trees and flowers – a spot which both mediates and reflects community life, visible from the outside. The office building’s flexible structure embraces the garden, with some of the office facilities ‘floating’ like hanging terraces and footbridges. From the winter garden in the atrium, there is direct access to the shops on the ground floor and to the offices on the uppermost levels. The building will follow the environment friendly and low energy concept which was set in previous office buildings in River City Prague Danube House and Nile House which leads to energy saving of 40-50% compare to conventional office buildings. The project will consist of 19,800 m2 of office space, 2,200 m2 of retail dedicated to services and more than 250 parking spaces. The main architects are Danish architects Schmidt, Hammer & Lassen.
