The practice has been appointed to lead a multi-disciplinary team to re-develop the Royal Museum, Scotland’s National Museum, for the National Museums of Scotland. The team includes structural engineers David Narro Associates and building services engineers Max Fordham.
The £44.5 million proposals, involve a series of major architectural works including a more accessible ‘street level’ entrance, new circulation routes, learning zones, restaurants and shopping facilities.
Scotland’s largest Heritage Lottery Fund £16.865 million has been earmarked stage one Heritage Lottery Funding (HLF), for the Grade A listed building, announced in July 2005. The new team will now prepare for stage two.
