WAN AWARDS Commercial sector open for entries until 31st October 2011

World Architecture News celebrates the launch of the Commercial sector 2011, rewarding outstanding projects across the world that go above and beyond to enhance the working space. Last year’s shortlisted projects included projects as prolific as the Burj Khalifa to the opposite end of the scale – a much more modest 'incubator' office building for technology.

The Commercial Sector covers all retail, leisure, hospitality and other commercial projects. For the 'completed' category, if you have designed a building of one of these types, whether an office building, shopping mall, bank, hotel, retail outlet or any other commercial project that has been completed during the last three full calendar years, (on or after January 1st 2008), you can now enter for the WAN AWARDS Commercial Sector 2011.

If you have a design for a commercial project that is yet to be built - even if it may never be built - you can now enter your project into the 'unbuilt' category for the WAN AWARDS Commercial Sector 2011

Any commercial projects that meet the above entry criteria can be entered for the WAN AWARDS 2011 Commercial Sector. This includes all offices, retail outlets, shopping malls, hotels, leisure facilities, theme parks, banks, cinemas, cafes / restaurants and other commercial projects.

2010’s entries saw the stakes raised higher than ever with projects from all corners of the globe, including practices in Bahrain, South Korea, Germany and the United States. Top of the completed category was ingenhoven architects’s European Investment Bank HQ, Luxembourg , whilst the unbuilt winner was awarded to Haeahn Architecture + H Associates for their KEPCO Headquarters, Naju, South Korea .

The WAN AWARDS one of the most cost-effective means of getting worldwide exposure for your project and firm. More developers and clients are now using WAN to source architects and with over 860 entries from 51 countries, our awards scheme is officially the world’s largest architectural awards programme.

The deadline for Commercial entries is the 31 October. You can find all the information you need by clicking here, but please contact james.forryan@wantoday.com if you need any help or advice.

Good Luck!
