Phuoc Giang Eco City plans to become a regional leader in South East Asia for industry, trade and research

This 5,000ha site is located in Bien Hoa, in the South of Vietnam. ACLA's design proposed development comprises multiple development nodes, each with its own uniquely different character, and each planned to be developed in line with the expected and recommended development trend of Dong Nai - to position itself as a regional leader of South East Asia for industry, trade and research. Phase 1 would see the development of a water based residential and tourism community, in accordance to current market trends and requirements, while phase 2 would see the development of a higher density central city CBD area including trade and convention centres; phase 3 comprises an Eco-Tech research city, with phase 4 of a super dense future city.

Interlinking these development nodes is an integrated public open space network that creates not only a riparian park that provides opportunities for a range of environmental restoration measures as well as technological sustainability inputs, it also creates high quality open space providing areas of sports and playground as well as community gardens for existing residents of the project site.

Overall the site has been planned as a city of the future incorporating sustainable communities, green technologies and efficient ecosystems:

  • A modular approach of the site development that evolves with changing of needs of users so that future uses can be accommodated.
  • Vertical instead of horizontal development results in more efficient land use and lower land costs for investors.
  • Superclusters: High rise mixed use development with multi-level connectivity, multi-layered land use and maximize useable surface area.
  • Natural disaster proof: buildings will be built to withstand the effects of natural disasters including floods, whirlwinds, typhoons and hails which are prevalent in Vietnam.
  • Intelligent networking: Nodal Points provide intelligent networking through interactive urban information kiosks which can be located around the City. Each Nodal Point is a multi-functional device that can perform networking, monitoring, information and control functions comprising IT systems to deliver monitoring results (e.g. traffic, air quality).
  • Urban agriculture: Vertical, leveled and roof gardens will supply the local communities with fresh products, provide resistance to thermal radiation while contributing to good indoor and outdoor airquality.
