Celebrating architecture sustainably

WAN is delighted to announce that Kalzip, manufacturers of the world-leading standing seam roofing and wall cladding system are sponsoring the WAN AWARDS 11 Urban Design category.

WAN’s unique approach to international awards, keeping our own carbon footprint down to an absolute minimum is winning the hearts and minds of all the professionals involved in the programme; participants, judges and sponsors.

Using WAN’s online technology, our overseas judges are able to participate remotely and travel to the judging sessions is mostly by a combination of public transport, tube and bus and of course London’s highly successful Boris Bike scheme. A station has conveniently just been completed right outside our building…

WAN’s Editor in Chief, and Chairman of the Jury Panel, Michael Hammond said: “It only makes sense as architects are having to live and breathe sustainability, that we align ourselves to the cause and do our bit too. Our Awards are now not only the biggest but the most sustainable.”

Kalzip are the latest to join the impressive list of big names supporting WAN: Pilkington, Autodesk, Bau 2012 and Buro Happold are already on board.
