The taller it gets, the uglier it gets. Unfortunately, that's what happens with Daniel Libeskind's hideous creations.

Construction reaches 20th floor on controversial residential tower by Studio Daniel Libeskind

The construction of the 54-storey Zlota 44 tower by Studio Daniel Libeskind has now reached the 20th floor. A sharply pointed residential structure, the Zlota 44 project has been met by mixed reviews from local residents whose campaigns stopped construction works last year.

Polish authorities suspended the building permit for several months following a flurry of objections to the project, however this was reinstated in October 2010.

Libeskind has referred to the Zlota 44 residential project as ‘important to me personally and to the city of Warsaw’ as he attempts to imprint the undeniable Libeskind stamp on the Polish capital. Standing at 192m in height, the views from the top of the tower are promised to be spectacular with panoramic visuals afforded across the architecturally varied city.

251 individual apartments are encased within a high performance sustainable facade, with floor to ceiling operable windows designed to complement the pared-back interior. Attention has been paid to water and energy conservation, with relevant flow control and metering systems in place throughout.
