Designhive Animations help Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth win the bid
Designhive, the UK’s leading architectural and creative visual communications agency that helped London 2012 visualise the winning vision for the London Olympic Games, today reveal the images and animated sequences that helped Glasgow win their bid. The animations bring the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games proposed venues to life sharing the excitement that the Games will bring, the spectator experience and the sporting action.
The brief was to take a selection of still images originally created by Designhive and recreate them as animations, depicting a number of venues in Glasgow that would potentially host the many different events of the Games. Having already produced the main animation presentation which helped the bid team go through to the last stage of the 2014 Commonwealth Games bid, Designhive were familiar with both the Glasgow 2014 Bid Team and the project.
Working closely with Kirsten McGurk – Marketing Co-ordinator of the Glasgow 2014 Bid Team - and architects RMJM, Designhive produced 11 six-second sequences for inclusion in the final bid presentation. Combining live action footage, 3D effects and motion graphics, the shots were created by the team over a demanding six week period.
