Penoyre & Prasad LLP win three awards.
Last week was a good week for Penoyre & Prasad LLP, winning no less than three major awards:
Penoyre & Prasad were awarded Building Design’s “Health Building Architect of the Year” Award at the Architect of the Year Awards 2007 on 1 November. In the past 2 years alone the practice has completed eight significant and exceptional healthcare projects. Penoyre & Prasad were also pleased to be part of the winning team for the “Best Client” Award at the same event which was won by Building Better Health Ltd for their work with Penoyre & Prasad on numerous London LIFT projects including the recently opened award-winning Heart of Hounslow Health Centre.
On 7th November Penoyre & Prasad received the European Aluminium in Renovation Award for “Best Public Building 2007” at a prestigious international ceremony in Paris. The award-winning Penoyre & Prasad project was the Rich Mix arts centre in Bethnal Green. The design incorporates a facade of gold and silver aluminium louvres in front of multi-coloured vertical fins providing state-of-the-art solar control as well as a screen for projecting images. The award was accepted by Bernard Fitzsimons of Penoyre & Prasad, the lead architect on the project.
The award-winning streak continued with the announcement on 8 November that The Richard Desmond Children’s Eye Centre has won “Best Hospital Design” at the Building Better Healthcare Awards 2007. The Centre radically enhances the environment around it, while providing world-class clinical spaces within a relaxed, playful and inspiring environment for children and adults alike. The Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health was also highly commended in the “Best Community Hospital” section.
