Shepley Bulfinch hosts fundraiser for young cancer patient, collecting over $15,000
On December 3rd Shepley Bulfinch Principal Chris Nieto, and wife Becky hosted a fundraiser at the firm’s Phoenix office for Mia Foutz, a five-year-old Phoenix girl currently undergoing treatment for brain cancer.
In four short hours, the downtown community rallied together to raise over $15,000 in a one-night fundraising event for the Foutz family - and the donation total is still climbing. “All our friends, clients and downtown neighbors came together and made the event happen,” said Chris at the end of the captivating night.
Chris and Becky Nieto, together with all of the tenants of The LINK, the award winning building and location of the Shepley Bulfinch Phoenix office, worked side by side to make the fundraiser happen. Their initial goal was to raise $5000 through proceeds from the sale of tenants’ business merchandise and a silent auction organised by Chris Nieto. “This was a fantastic way for all of us and the staff of our studio, to give back and say thank you for embracing and welcoming everybody at The LINK to Phoenix’s downtown urban core,” Chris added.
Mia’s battle with cancer is not over. She has already undergone four brain surgeries with one more treatment to go. Anyone interested in donating to Mia and the Foutz family can contact Chris Nieto at cnieto@shepleybulfinch.com or go to www.humantribeproject.com and enter the first name 'Mia'.
