MIII architects designs steel landscraper in Zeeland to reflect surrounding water
MIII architects main reference point was the Zeeland water works; civil construction which is designed to be a natural fit within the landscape. The diagonal lines that characterise the Zeeland landscape are reflected in the design.
The desire by the customer for his business unit to radiate was reason for the architect to design a sculpture which encompasses office, workshop and storage as a whole. Routing, logistics and setting have shaped the footprint of the design.
In the choice of materials, MIII architects want to reach out to civil works Zealand, thus embankments have been constructed using basalt blocks, building an additional embedded feature in the landscape giving. Steel is the choice material for both wall and roof as a reference to the reflecting water which often dominates the local landscape.
