Geotectura presents self-sufficient bioclimatic structure to bring nature to urban cities
Merging elements of sustainability with cost effective technology, Geotectura present their Urban Tree project. The bioclimatic structure is formed of ‘floating cubes’, rotating as it elevates in order to keep a minimal footprint at ground level. Each cube in constructed using photovoltaic technology and water tank facilities ensuring the complete greenhouse form is energy independent.
Geotectura suggest that the design ‘promotes global awareness and communal responsibility and sees beyond a single short term solutions'; an urban tree that can ‘merge land and architecture’. From the terrace sky courts users are provided with panoramic views and optimal air flow and with such a minor footprint, has the potential to supply an injection of nature into a wide variety of urban habitats.
