Insulating Wall Ties helping to deliver sustainable, energy-efficient structures

Ancon TemloTie are a low thermal conductivity wall tie, manufactured from pultruded basalt fibres set in epoxy resin.

Wall Ties are an essential element in the strength and stability of a masonry wall, but by crossing the cavity they act as a thermal bridge between the internal and external leaves. Ancon TeploTie should win the WAN Product of the Year award because it is the most thermally efficient wall tie on the market. It has a thermal conductivity of just 0.7W/mK. This extremely low conductivity minimises heat transfer, thereby improving the energy efficiency of the wall. Fixings with a conductivity rating below 1.0W/mK are excluded from U-value calculations to EN ISO 6946 as the effects are negligible. Ancon TeploTie has been independently tested by the CERAM laboratory to the performance requirements of EN 845.

It is approved by the British Board of Agrément and meets the technical requirements of the National House Building Council. Although a new product, TeploTie has already been used on many super energy-efficient projects including a certified Passivhaus and a zero carbon retrofit.
