HKS selected for Crowne Plaza Ningbo Xiangshan Sea View
HKS Hill Glazier Studio was selected to design the Crowne Plaza Ningbo Xiangshan Sea View in China. The 300-room resort, which captures the beauty of the native site, offers both a beach and mountain experience, given the location of the nearby East China Sea.
The resort also offers 50 mountaintop units with adjacent pools, dining experiences and extraordinary views of the ocean. The ultimate guestroom experience is available by reserving one of eight individual mountain treehouse bungalows - providing guests with 270 degree views, private terraces and private pools.
"The resort is unlike any other in the region," said Steve Doyel, senior designer with HKS. "The central hotel rests on a lush landscaped fabric of vegetation, waterfalls and a collection of more than 20 freshwater and saltwater pools, connected by an infinity water edge to the sea. Our design celebrates this unique and inspiring environment." The resort is set to be completed in 2012.
