I don't really think creative and innovative minds need an iconic building to get inspired from, I mean many great artworks were produced in dark closed rooms!

However, I do think that its elegant exterior, spacious interior and high ceiling are well suited for its function.

dwp designs a new architectural icon in China

A centre of creativity and innovation in Xiamen China where art, fashion and design seamlessly fuse to create an inspirational and dynamic environment. The Lilanz Creative Centre, designed by dwp (design worldwide partnership), one of the world’s leading architecture and interior design firms, is destined to be an iconic hub of creativity, where visions for sustainable living and successful business in China coalesce in a creative environment.

dwp’s multicultural design talent developed a mixed-use masterplan with auditoriums, retail spaces, residential and workplace complexes that fuse European and Asian concepts, soaring diamond-shaped glass curtain walls and steel canopies, while enveloping the entire complex in a ‘Las Rambles’ style boulevard that hugs those below, providing a sense of calmness to this microcosm of energy. This elegant balance captures the spirit and heart of this ambitious 70,000 sq m development, reflecting dwp’s design philosophy – simple elegant design solutions that create environments that respond to both material and spiritual needs.
