Pair of two storey semi-detached beachside houses

Exemplary in its form, scale and presence, exploiting sea views from all spaces including the rear courtyard.

Picture windows face the beach, screened from the setting sun by randomly arranged fins to conceal the dual use of the building. Transparent, light filled and spacious, yet offering a high level of privacy.

Three distinct two-storey masses are separated by glazed voids allowing the penetration of diffused daylight. Bridges traversing each void heighten the illusion of space and reference the nearby jetty.

The sculptured form fashioned by the glazed recesses maximising environmental protection and creates transitional zones between the public and private realms.

Simple, well resolved, environmentally sensitive and robust.
