Jorge Hernandez Architects design the Smooth Building in Nuevo León, México
The Smooth Building is located in a private residential area in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The plot faces to the South with an amazing sight of the Sierra Madre Oriental. The design challenge on this project was to combine a home and office in the same place, but at the same time using the maximum space possible.
In order to achieve this it was necessary to mix the spaces and uses on all four levels. The structure responds to the topography and the heat of the site using only 70% of the area. The shape places each space in the best way inside of a curved continue skin, with different materials that responds and opens to the immediate context to obtain the best climate conditions and views of the site.
