MarchesePartners Architect design upscale senior housing in Sydney
Watermark, Castle Cove offers facilities within a boutique complex of just 50 independent living units.
MarchesePartners received development approval for the project back in 2006.
Using sound urban design principles, the architects were able to achieve significantly more floor space and height than is prescribed in the S.E.P.P. (Housing for Seniors), whilst still achieving development approval in nine months.
Set around a generous courtyard, Watermark offers 17 different apartment styles of one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes, plus penthouse styles in Castle Cove in Sydney's lower north shore.
The development is located within walking distance of local shops and medical facilities and features on-site facilities, including a residents lounge dining area and bar, a cinema, gym, hairdressing salon, games room as well as a large landscaped courtyard, which contain a putting green, seating areas and a herb garden.
The extensive landscaping around the building contains walking tracks and allotment areas for the residents .
The development also incorporates an active public-private interface through the incorporation of the Castle Cove Public Library within the development, which is run by the local council.
