Stan Munro extends thanks to WAN readers after suggestions for Toothpick City

Several months ago we featured the breathtaking architectural toothpick sculptures of Stan Munro, a man on a mission to break records with his scale models of some of the most recognisable buildings in the world. As his second Toothpick City neared completion, Munro requested the aid of WAN readers by asking for inspiration in the form of building suggestions. The invitation received many responses, despite being ‘really difficult buildings that [he’d] been avoiding’. Ultimately, Munro decided on Le Corbusier's chapel of Notre Dame du Haut in Ronchamp, France, after numerous suggestions for the religious structure, with its billowing concrete roof and decidedly abstract windows. The artist extends his gratitude to the many WAN readers who emailed with suggestions and good wishes. To read the original article and view multiple images of the project, click here.
