Design to address the conservation of nature
Sydney is endowed with beautiful tranquil coves, spectacular homes perch on the crags around these coves. This house is no exception - located in a foreshore scenic conservation area, the house has to merge with the steep topography and rock outcrops. Instead of building around the rock outcrops, the merging is accomplished by bringing the rock outcrop into the house, providing a visually stunning rock sculpture that invites attention. The topography allows the creation of interesting spaces with varying levels. Rooms are light and airy. An enchanting balcony leading from the living room evokes sensations of being on a tree house terrace, providing an unforgettable entertaining area. At night, one may star-gaze in bed from the bedrooms.
