Entries open for 2010 KPF / AF Student Travel Award

Non-profit organisation The Architecture Foundation are offering travel scholarships for two architecture students attending architecture schools in the UK, sponsored by KPF Architects. In order to win these scholarships, students must submit a short project portfolio, demonstrating an outstanding commitment and vision for future urban development, and a concentration on social, economic and environmental sustainability. The aim of the award is not only to support exceptional current architecture students, but also to encourage new creative minds in the field of architecture. First prize in the competition is a grant of £1,250 with a second prize of £1,000, to be put towards a research trip abroad. Both winners will also complete a 4-week internship programme at the KPF offices in London, in August 2010.

Open to all undergraduate and graduate students at architecture schools in the UK, (including year out students and those graduating in 2010) the KPF/AF Student Travel Award is the sixth annual award of its kind. Submission requirements include a concise project of no more than ten sheets of A3 and a description of up to 400 words, showing a strong emphasis on spatial design within the city; an additional textual piece (maximum of 400 words) must be included on the how this research would be furthered by a trip abroad and how the grant money would be spent.

The deadline for submissions is 7th April 2010 and the winners will be announced at a networking dinner, held in May 2010. For further information on this exciting opportunity, click here.
