A 5-in-1 construction solution combining the very best in aesthetics with total performance and functionality

Qbiss by trimo represents a technological as well as an innovation breakthrough; a 5-in-1 concept it brings a system or package approach to the building envelope by uniting all the desired functional advantages of high quality facades with the very best aesthetics. As a system, Qbiss by trimo comprises the modular facade element, sealing and fixing components, flashings, corner details and even windows if required, but it is perhaps the facade that attracts most interest. Developed in response to architectural and design demands the facade is unique possessing the only true rounded corner on the market. This aesthetic quality is further enhanced with the ‘Shadow Joint’ where the longitudinal and transverse joints are optically of the same width, which presents a modern minimalistic design with a smooth surface.

SR Architects chose Qbiss by trimo for the recently completed Aldershot Centre for Health, not only for its high aesthetics but for the measurable benefits it could deliver over at least the duration of its 30-year lease. It was chosen also for its durability and low maintenance. From construction through to the end of its working life, it was important that the building could stand proud with its green credentials and here Qbiss by trimo excelled. Working with dcarbon8, the London-based carbon and sustainability consultancy, Trimo has been pro-actively working to measure, reduce and off-set the embodied carbon footprint of its average facade and roofing panel by 110% achieving Planet Positive status an internationally recognised environmental mark of accreditation. From the extraction of raw materials used to manufacture the galvanised steel sheet, the mineral wool insulation, adhesives and packaging to the energy required to produce a single panel, including the increasing use of recycled material and end-of-life disposal cost Trimo’s cradle-to-cradle approach provided a whole-life analysis of its product’s performance Product performance and architectural appeal was not compromised in meeting the sustainable and efficiency goals.
