Stock Woolstencroft's South London housing scheme exceeds sustainability target

Work recently started on a highly sustainable, urban residential scheme at Vale Street, West Norwood. It is designed by architects and urban planners, Stock Woolstencroft for L&Q Housing Trust and Tower Homes. Vale Street is made up of three-storey townhouses, four-storey apartment blocks and two-storey houses adapted for wheelchair users. 40% on-site renewable energy (far exceeding the GLA's 10% target) will be provided through a combination of a biomass boiler plant and photovoltaics, and the external fabric of the building will be super-insulated to minimise the space heating energy demand.
