I think this its a great piece of architecture. The consistent resolution of the city plan restrictions create a dramatic and powerful volume and the space/puzzle generated in the interior gives vitality to the user-experience. That ambivalence (neutral volume vs crossing/spaces) gives a unit character but individual experiences. The single-material gives a simple visual looking to the building, adapting it to the enviroment but also a quite/silent panorama. In resume, good resolution for the urban location, simple and effective volume, great use of single material and perfect space resolution.

Gonzalo Mardones gives a multi-occupancy residential project individual identities

Glamis Apartment’s main facade consists of two large walls which contain a series of openings and windows of different sizes that reflect the project’s internal program.

From a constructive point of view the building is resolved with concrete incorporating titanium dioxide and a system of phenolic molds with 5 inch wide planks, which have been designed and modulated on the basis of the geometry of the windows, sills, beams and walls. The exterior is completely white and all the doors, windows and joinery items are in cedar wood.

All the elements of the façade correspond to a coherent rectangular theme of squares and rectangles to ensure that the voids, light, transparency and framing of each view gives each space its own identity.
