22@ Business Park combines conservation of a 1906 nave and an old factory renovation
The 41,000 sq m project based in Barcelona is built atop an old textile factory and will consist of modern offices and hotels. The main volume is intended for offices and creates an innovative relationship between the exterior and interior of the project. The building is based on a central passage which features a historic early 20Cth nave throughout the building which will maintain its original structure. Batlle & Roig Architects intend to renovate this back to its former glory and utilise it as a functional work space. The main volume consists of three underground floors for parking and eleven stories above street level to accommodate offices and employee services. The ground floor is used mainly for access and connecting the historic nave with the main space which is set to accommodate an auditorium with capacity for 330 people, a large meeting room and some service areas for employees of the CMT.
