The O² VIP Sponsors Lounge within the main existing Millennium O² Arena, features Translucent and Blue

Lacquer material and has recently been used to create a striking dome shaped feature ceiling and backdrop, within the groundbreaking AEG venue.

This is one of Stretch Ceilings' most prestigious projects to date incorporating 280 square metres of Blue Lacquer within the welcome and transition tunnel areas. The O² VIP Sponsors Lounge comprises 350 square metres of vaulted and domed sculptured features. A total of 66 stretched membrane panels are used within the lounge area. The use of a stretch ceiling within this area creates a stunning, eye-catching feature that compliments the surroundings. The design criterion was for the ceiling system to be versatile enough to provide a stimulating and fresh environment. The project demanded that the finish be in keeping with the surrounding aesthetics; the fabric enhances the artificial lighting within the space and provides an exceptional acoustic experience.

The distinctive Translucent finish surpassed expectations with its ability to create clean and cool or loud and colourful ceiling features and lighting effects that included front or rear projection. The material is only 0.2mm thick, very lightweight and affords approximately 74% light transmission. A lightweight construction was paramount, to allow an almost free standing environment to be constructed at speed inside a difficult shaped concrete shell.
