Announcing the Built Projects shortlist...
The six shortlisted projects are:
Beijing International Airport, Beijing, China by Foster + Partners. This project represents the world’s largest, most technically advanced and sustainable airport building.
Beijing South Station, Beijing, China by TFP Farrells. This fully integrated multi-modal transportation hub serves as a 'Gateway' to the Chinese capital and a vital link in China’s new high-speed intercity network.
Castleford Riverside Masterplan, Castleford, UK by McDowell + Benedetti. This project, featured on the UK's Channel 4 sparked the regeneration of the town area and creates a safer and more pleasant pedestrian route across the Castleford Bay.
High Line, New York, USA by James Corner Field Operations and Diller Scofidio + Renfro. The High Line creates new public space from a derelict urban platform establishing an urban corridor for habitat, wildlife and people.
Northala Fields, London, UK by FORM Associates Ltd. Northala fields is the largest new London park for a century. Utilising substantial volumes of imported construction rubble from a pool of London-wide development projects a monumental hilly parkland is created.
Seattle Art Museum Olympic Sculpture Park, Seattle, USA by Weiss/Manfredi. Reconnecting Seattle to the waterfront, this project turns a problematic former industrial site into an artistic public space and a showcase of talent.
