New design collaboration win £multi-million project
Following the announcement of a collaboration between construction company Sisk and modular specialist Corus, the alliance has announced their first project win. citizenM's new Glasgow hotel, designed by Concrete Architectural Associates, will be the first contract for Sisk+Corus Modular Construction (Sisk + Corus) producing a new model for modular hotels in Europe.
Sisk + Corus is the UK’s first provider of end-to-end modular construction solutions to the hotel and student accommodation sectors combining Sisk’s in-depth hotel market knowledge and Corus’ automotive-style production efficiencies to deliver the citizenM hotel in just 44 weeks via off-site construction methods.
The 198-bedroom hotel in Glasgow city centre, situated next to the famous Theatre Royal is designed to appeal with both luxury and value in advance of a planned expansion into Europe for citizenM. Full height windows are incorporated together with an exterior artwork installation creating an intriguing and unique facade in line with the citizenM brand.
