From the excellent range of civic entries received, six have been selected for the final shortlist

The WAN AWARDS Civic sector attracted the biggest number of entries yet, outstripping both Education and Healthcare. As would be expected, the variety of projects was immense, from a booth in Times Square to a vast exhibition centre in China.

The judges had their work cut out to select a shortlist of six. As is often the case with WAN jury sessions, it wasn’t just the big schemes that attracted interest. The creative exchange by 5th Studio, not a huge budget building, managed to provoke a lot of discussion with its original approach. Similarly, Library España in Medellín, Colombia by Giancarlo Mazzanti taxed the jury immensely with differing perceptions of its success.

Finally, however a shortlist was agreed.
