4 Storey Gallery+Apartment building in Hoxton Square, London
DOS Architects have just obtained Planning consent for their proposed building at 20-21 Hoxton Square, London. The proposal has been subject to 10 months of lengthy negotiations with the London Borough of Hackney due to the sensitive nature of the site and Grade II listed adjacent building.
The Architects' intent was to create a simple
and modern building which sat confidently alongside the
group of listed buildings by replicating their main cladding
material –the brick- as well as picking up the main height
lines and rhythms of their façade. The scheme will provide
a high quality, contemporary addition to the square while
being sympathetic to its historic neighbors and the
conservation area.
