The Inner Sanctum building by Architects Vim Design reinvigorates a decayed urban strip in Sydney.
A landscaped inner courtyard allows this urban renewal project to present a more defensive face to the main road. Through-site access provides residents with a second address on the rear lane, increasing security through passive survelance.
The first of its type in the southern Sydney suburb of Ramsgate this development combines single level, highly accessible apartments and ultra modern crossover apartments. The main street elevation of masonry structural blades with boxed metal cladding and metal sun shading responds to its western orientation. Building massing reinforces the block-edge pattern of the local shopping strip.
