Shopping center shaped by the landscape and topography
The building is designed as a generator to revitalize the city center. The area is transformed from an open market place into shopping center accompanied by open public spaces and green recreational areas. The land plot location at a densely built up area at the center of the city guided the design as a building integrated with green areas and open public spaces. For this aim, the roof of the building is designed as a landscaped area shaped by the topography. The curvilinear shape of the building is continued through the landscape on the roof as well as the urban square at the entrance of the building. A horizontal building interweaving with greenery shaped by the topography is designed instead of a vertically rising shopping center. The relationship between the floors is established by the interior courtyard located at the center of the building. The courtyard is surrounded by shops and cafes as a continuation of existing high street retail at the center of the city.
