Project led by tvsdesign frames area heritage
Construction is complete on the Daytona Ocean Center’s $76 million expansion. Situated along A1A, America’s scenic coastal byway through downtown Daytona Beach, the project has expanded the existing Ocean Center into a state-of-the-art facility. The expanded facility will provide exhibition, sports, meeting and banquet attractions serving the Florida, regional and national market.
The expanded Ocean Center now offers more than 200,000 sq ft of interior space for meetings, conventions, concerts and trade shows including a 97,000 sq ft exhibit hall, 41,000 sq ft of meeting rooms, a renovated 14,000 sq ft ballroom and a 10,000-seat arena. The expansion is part of a larger precinct master plan that includes nearby Main Street and Ocean Walk retail and entertainment areas, the adjacent Peabody Theater, and nearby existing and future convention hotels as well as still further phases of expansion to the Ocean Center. County officials look to the project as a spur to local growth and see the process already under way with the facility’s grand opening event.
