A world class collaborative learning environment

The Australian Science and Mathematics School is an innovative, internationally recognised centre for research-based teaching and learning, specialising in sciences and mathematics. ASMS has become an internationally recognised benchmark for new learning environments, direct expressions of pedagogical objectives.

The comprehensive senior secondary school is proving to be an effective catalyst for advances in teacher preparation and professional development through education, business and industry partnerships using new and emerging technologies and enterprise initiatives. It provides leadership in the introduction of the South Australian Curriculum Standards and Accountability frameworks (SACSA), particularly in the learning area specialisations of mathematics and science.

It was considered important that the building design should incorporate best practice in environmentally sustainable design and intelligent building concepts. As such, the building itself acts as a learning tool for the school and enables students to develop an understanding of how buildings, people and the natural environment interact.
