Design for high-profile resort awarded to U.S. Korea team
In a competition that drew submittals from major architects worldwide, the winning design for Donggang Cistar Resort in Youngwol, Korea was created by Durrant-Minneapolis with Mooyoung Architects, of Seoul.
The innovative design concept by architects SaeMin Oh and Karl Ermanis unites sports and arts in one resort. Amenities include a welcome center, spa, water park, snow sledding, and golf course. Also included are an international poetry museum, music performance hall, modern music museum, and outdoor concert venue. It is the first all-inclusive resort of its kind in Korea.
