Eco golf course sets new par in New South Wales
Magenta Shores is a unique integrated golf, housing and resort estate located on a 2.3km beachfront setting just north of The Entrance on the NSW Central Coast.
The development comprises of 10 residential precincts totaling approximately 360 dwellings that weave in and around a stunning 18-hole golf course and resort. The resort itself includes a club house, three swimming pools, steam room, day spa, five star restaurant, gym, bars, conference facilities and 149 “beach bungalow” resort villas.
HASSELL designed and documented the landscape for the entire site to integrate the streetscapes, parks and the golf course into a strongly defined landscape that ‘reaches out’ to the surrounding area. One of the significant challenges on this project was to deliver a landscape that met the client’s high “green volume” planting requirements within a harsh coastal environment.
The plant palette consists of species that are particularly wind, salt and drought tolerant, but also provide an array of colours and textures and create a series of stunning settings for golf, resort and residential life. The design also achieves high water quality control, detention, storage and reuse benchmarks.
