Stephen Fletcher Architects have carefully remodelled this early Victorian house as a contemporary residence

The clients approached Stephen Fletcher Architects with a brief to extend, upgrade and remodel their Victorian house to create a series of contemporary spaces suitable for modern family living, whilst respecting the best of the original. At ground floor level, the two principal rooms were opened-up to form a large formal Living Room with new oak boards and plaster cornices to match the original. At the rear, a structural glass extension and bi-folding doors were installed to provide an open-plan kitchen/dining room which connected with the rear garden. Two principal bedroom suites were created at the upper floors, plus additional bedrooms and ancillary accommodation.
