Brighton Baths has been revitalised within the public realm of Brighton foreshore. Once the domain of the hardy Icebergers and other sea-lovers, the baths will now also operate as a gymnasium, a cafe and restaurant for 200 patrons opening the building up to the bay and the surrounding area.
The separation of the old and new is articulated with materials and form. The existing honest expression of materials is maintained through the new extensions with pre-weathered zinc cladding, natural anodised aluminium and treated steel, providing contemporary, durable high-quality materials to the maritime setting.
