A house woven into the fabric of it's environment.
In a site where the meaningful integration with urban matter is not possible, this intervention proposes an alternative way to investigate the role of landscape elements and tactics in the architecture of urban-rural fringe conditions. The disposition of the building is based on the integration of the functional spaces with the topography and vegetation of the plot.
An architecture of low density in conjunction with a logic of micro-urban assembly is acheived. A hierarchical part-to-whole organization of the functional spaces is bound with a well perceived articulation of a heterogeneous envelope that in addition defines inside / outside interfaces, beyond a mere dialectic of the elevations. Thus, in the overall design synergy, possibilities of urban transformation from peripheral sprawl to a more intensively coherent fabric are created.
