On a recycled urban lot on southern México City a post-stressed concrete grid structure is already being built to give space to 30 2-level homes. The developer’s plan to build differently sized apartments gave Evaristo Ares a chance to play a puzzle-like 3d-game that can be seen both in plan and elevation. The apartments nest within the grid structure and are topped by a 7th floor veranda that provides leisure spaces for the inhabitants. To the outside, the concrete grid is clearly visible and so is a playful geometry of white windows and balconies that hover above the street.
